Sarah Jessica Parker Covers The January Issue Of Elle
Fashion Writer Jo Piazza for Stylelist writes up the Sarah Jessica Parker cover story with a "new interview about her infant twins and landing the top job at Halston."
Sarah shares, “It took me a long time to say yes,” she said of being offered the position of president and chief creative officer at Halston and Halston Heritage. “I kept saying, ‘You understand, by offering this you are going to be criticized?’”
“I said, ‘Please know this now: I will never do this for a title. I will never dip in and out of this. I’ll do it like everything else I’ve ever done. I’ll be involved down to the splitting of the atom.’”
However, she admits there has been a learning curve. “I might not have the language; I can’t always tell you the exact blend of a fabric, but I figure it out,” she said.
Loretta and Tabitha, the twin girls Parker and her husband, Matthew Broderick, had by surrogacy, are now almost 18 months old. Tabitha is “crazy for bows; she wants her head covered in them,” Parker tells Elle.
Meeting the girls for the first time “is hard to describe,” she said. “Everything is suspended. I can’t even tell you what other sounds were in the room. I loved them immediately, but everything — their size, the shape of their heads, the color of their hair, their noses, their eyes — was new to me. They looked surprisingly different from James Wilkie, which I wasn’t expecting.”
The January issue of Elle will hit newsstands Dec. 15. In the meantime, find more about the story here on the Elle website."
