Roxette
Roxette are from Sweden and it's been over 20 years since the pop musique duo, made up of Marie Fredriksson and Per Gessle, stormed the radio airwaves. Their roller coaster career enjoyed worldwide notoriety from the late 80's til the mid 90's. According to sources, "The duo took a hiatus from recording and touring, when in 2002, Fredriksson was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Roxette took to the stage together again for the first time in 8 years, in 2009, during Gessle's European Party Crasher tour."
But alas, they have returned and this time with a dancing vengeance. As for me, I've never been a fan until now. Perhaps that's because I can still recall my mummy blaring their original tracks endlessly while in the car driving to somewhere. As a little boy, it was quite bothersome but now, it's a whole another story. Turn that volume up, indulge and be dancy.
In case you may have forgotten, below are a few of Roxette's greatest commercial hits that may bring back possible memories for some of you kiddas.
Their musical history states that, "their songs continue to receive radio airplay, with "It Must Have Been Love" and "Listen to Your Heart" both recently receiving awards from BMI for achieving four million radio plays. They have sold an estimated 60 million records worldwide, with over 3.5 million record sales in the United States, achieving platinum for Joyride and Look Sharp".
