When YSL Met Basquiat
Francois-Marie Banier, was a famous French photographer, infamously known for his portraiture shots of established fashion designers. It was the mid 1990's, when Francois shot his friend, the always sophisticated Yves Saint Laurent. What made this portrait unique unlike any other YSL image we've seen in the past, is the math equation-like/scribbles. It is said that the pioneer of graffiti art, Jean-Michel Basquiat , was a major influence during the shooting of this piece.
