Breaking Bread: Sky Ferriera Edition
Portuguese-American singer–songwriter, Sky Ferreira gives her best Tarantino/Old Hollywood mobster impression as a tough-guy in lust over Actor Michael Madsen’s, portraying as his #1 fan. Her first single "Obsession" is off Sky's debut album coming out in January of 2011 on Capitol Records. As the lyrics sing, Sky wants the public for her to become their latest obsession. The video is directed by Marc Klasfeld (Kelis, Vanessa Carlton, & Gnarls Barkley).
The album is said to have taken nearly four years to finish. I won't lie, it took a few listens before becoming entranced with this tune myself. It's safe to say we all have things we're obsessed with, whether they're fleeting or eternal. Currently this tune is no exception on my ipods Pop playlist. I really dig from the video when Michael Madsen is treated as just a game in the beginning but ultimately becomes partners in crime with Miss Ferriera. See for yourselves below kiddas!
