We're back kiddas! Picking up where we left off last week (Including our favorite pick, Agnes b; as our choice as the best men collection for Fall 2011). As we've stated previously, fashion week Fall 2011 is exploding everywhere left and right. So we have decided to cover and to inform all you dedicated and darling followers of ours with official coverage from the shows. Note: The picture selections you see are my picks exclusively. There is obviously much more in the collection itself. But as always, I only select the pieces that speak to me, the ones that make me feel something from an expressionist point of view.
Next up, David Andersen Fall 2011 Collection. According to fashion writery Leah Chernikoff,
"David Andersen is known for his hard-edged androgynous menswear–he’s used women to model his menswear in the past. Both Diddy-Dirty Money and Paris Hilton have worn his pieces (if your mindgrapes can handle that). This year, his label David Andersen Denmark launched women’s ready to wear at an IMAX movie theater in the heart of Copenhagen.
Taking a page from Gareth Pugh, Andersen showed a 3-D fashion film to present his collection. At the end of the film–very kaleidoscopic, black and white and Pugh-inspired–Andersen sent out real live models, too, who walked the aisles of the movie theater as if it were a catwalk and not carpeted in a tacky red and gold-print carpet lined with exit aisle lights. The clothes were less spectacular than the show but consistent, hyper-androgynous, and street-cool nonetheless–lots of tight black leather, slouchy tanks, and white button-downs that took some inspiration from Rick Owens. And in keeping with today’s androgynous model trend, Andersen’s male models were gorgeous enough to give model-of-the-moment Andrej Pejic a run for his money.
Take a look.
