The House of Sweden Presents Nudie Jeans

The term “fashion sense” does not just relate to a sense of style anymore. The House of Sweden in Washington D.C. threw a fashion sensible show and seminar for the socially responsible and sustainable brand Nudie Jeans. Nudie Jeans has redefined fashion sense into ecologically sustainable fashion choices. October 3, 2008 presented collections by Nudie Jeans and “Recycled Denim Maniacs,” a special project line of worn out jeans by Swedish designers. The night also showcased 30 different artists’ interpretations of the Un Declaration of Human Rights in celebration of its 60th Anniversary.

The “Clothing and Conscious” seminar was held the night before the runway show.
Maria Levin, founder and designer for Nudie Jeans, gave an inspiring speech about her company’s visions and passions. The seminar also allowed leading American and Swedish companies to discuss sustainable fashions and their own corporate responsibilities.

Nudie Jeans started in 2001 and is currently sold in 1500 stores and 30 countries. Check out www.nudiejeans.com for more environmentally friendly denim fashions.
